Departing outside Tower Hill Underground Station
Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and   Fridays at 7:45 p.m.

Duration: 2hours

Our walk explores the terrible story of the Great Plague of 1665 as it progressed from the filthy slums where it started and spread across the entire city, spreading fear and terror amongst the population.

Come with the Plague Doctor to learn what happened that terrible summer of 1665 when one in every five Londoners died and tens of thousands fled the city in complete panic. Discover the very odd (and often disgusting) ways that the terrified citizens tried to protect themselves from the plague, with lots of practical demonstrations of the 'cures' and 'preventatives' peddled by both the proper doctors and the quacks using the primitive medical knowledge of the time.
